Fewer than 1,000 social homes built in Munster
Fewer than 1,000 new homes were built in the entire province of Munster last year under social housing delivery programmes.
The figures, compiled by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, include direct builds by local authorities, homes built by approved housing bodies (AHBs) and social houses built as part of private schemes under Part V of the Planning and Development Act, which determines up to 10% of a private development must be made available for social housing.
