Woman dies in Kildare road crash

A woman has died in a crash in Co. Kildare.

The single-vehicle collision happened at around 11pm last night at Rathangan Road, Allenwood South, Naas.

The 52-year-old woman, who was the only person in the car at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body has been removed to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital for a post-mortem today.

The road remains closed while Gardaí examine the scene and local diversions are in place.
