High Court proceedings have been brought over the selection process used by the organisation that represents Irish racehorse owners to select its representative on the board of Horse Racing Ireland.

The action has been brought by businessman James Gough who has been the Association of Irish Racehorse Owner's (AIRO) nominee to the board of Horse Racing Ireland for the last four years.
