Father confronted garda accused of abuse

The father of a girl who allegedly was sexually assaulted by a relative more than two years ago has spoken in court about confronting the alleged assailant the following day outside the latter’s home.

A garda is on trial before the Circuit Criminal Court on a single charge of sexually assaulting a then 10-year-old girl in the early hours of November 27, 2016, following a family gathering.
