Number of UK residents applying for Irish passports increases by 83% in six years

The number of people from Northern Ireland and Great Britain applying for an Irish passport has increased by 83% over the past six years.

New information from the Department of Foreign Affairs shows that to the end of October 2018, 158,763 people had applied for an Irish passport compared to 86,770 in 2012.
