Woman dies following crash in Dundalk

An elderly woman has been killed in a crash in Dundalk Co Louth this evening.

The woman in her 70s was knocked down by a truck in the Mourne Vale Estate just before 7pm.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road has been closed off to allow for a forensic examination and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
