A section of the M50 in Dublin has reopened fully after an earlier collision which left one man with serious injuries.

Update 5pm: A section of the M50 in Dublin has reopened fully after an earlier collision which left one man with serious injuries.

It happened this morning when a car collided with a truck heading southbound shortly before 10am.

All lanes between those junctions were forced to close as emergency services dealt with the incident.

The male driver of the truck was taken to St Vincents Hospital with serious injuries.

Man seriously injured in M50 crash

Update 12.07pm: A man has been seriously injured in a crash on the M50.

It happened when a car collided with a truck in the hard shoulder at Dundrum shortly before 10am.

Dublin Fire Brigade says its paramedics had to use cutting equipment to free the man from the vehicle.

Two lanes of the motorway have reopened between junction 13, Ballinteer, and junction 14, Leopardstown Road.
