Bill Clinton has dubbed Brexit an "identity crisis" and has said the current "paralysis" in Northern Ireland poses significant dangers to democracy.

The former US president has pleaded with the Irish people not to let democracy and peace slide into the "hell of the Troubles", especially in the context of Brexit.
