Boil water notice for parts of Dublin and Wicklow after fault at water treatment plant

A boil water notice has been put in place for parts of Wicklow and Dublin.

It is due to a mechanical failure at the Vartry Water Treatment plant.

The areas include Ashford, Newcastle, Greystones, Delgany, Bray, between Callowhill and Cronroe and parts of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown.

It is a precautionary measure to protect around 65,000 people served by the supply after the failure of the chlorine booster at the plant.
