Education Department outlines pay increases for recently recruited teachers

The Education Department has written to school managers outlining pay increases for recently recruited teachers.

The increases, which come into affect from January 1st next year, only apply to teachers who accepted the Lansdowne Road Agreement.

Members of the TUI and INTO unions are set to benefit, however the increases do not apply to around 17,000 teachers with the ASTI who rejected the pay deal.

The new pay structure applies to those who entered the profession after February 1 2012.
