Man to appear in court in connection with seized firearm in Dublin

A 44-year-old man has been charged in connection with the seizure of a firearm in Dublin.

It follows a planned search in the Mountjoy Street area on Tuesday.

The man was detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at Store street Garda station.

He remains in custody and is due to appear before Dublin District Court this morning.
