Woman threatened with gun during burglary in Longford

A woman has been threatened with a gun during an aggravated burglary at an apartment in Longford.

It happened at Market Square around 3am this morning - when a number of men forced their way into the apartment, which was occupied at the time by a woman in her thirties and her son.

The woman was assaulted and was badly shaken up - her son was uninjured.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

The would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area between 2am and 6am this morning.
