Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road crash in which a 47 year old pedestrian was killed.

The man died after he was struck by a car on Shelbourne Road in Ballsbridge, at 12.25am on Sunday October 9.

The injured man was treated by emergency services personnel, but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

Gardaí would particularly like to speak with the driver of a blue people carrier/MPV taxi, which was in the vicinity of the Shelbourne Road at the time of the accident.

This taxi stopped and let people out before driving off in the direction of Merrion Road.
