Gardaí investigate after car goes on fire before crashing and killing driver
There has been a death on Ireland's roads today.
Gardaí said a car collided with a wall after it went on fire on the N72 at Ballygalane, Lower Lismore, Co. Waterford, at around 6.30pm yesterday evening.
A body was removed from the car and was taken to Waterford University Hospital. No other vehicle was involved in the incident.
There was only one person in the car, and Gardaí could provide no further details of the deceased as the body has not been positively identified.
The road was closed for a forensic examination, but has since reopened.
