The health watchdog is criticising a disability service which runs three residential facilities in Kilkenny and Kildare for failing to protect residents from abuse.

HIQA is releasing 24 inspection reports into a number of services across the country.

Inspections of three Camphill Communities of Ireland facilities in Kildare and Kilkenny have found they are failing to manage the units correctly and do not have adequate safeguarding arrangements in place to protect residents from the risk of abuse.

HIQA's also highlighting a number of concerns in relation to the Daughters of Charity, Western Care and the Paddock facilities across the country.
