Overtime bill for Dublin gardaí up €7m so far this year

The garda overtime bill in Dublin rose by €7m in the first half of the year.

The 62% rise is mainly due to the extra resources needed to combat the Hutch/Kinahan fued.

Figures released to the Irish Times show garda overtime spending around the country was up by almost 50% between January and June.

Three gardaí got overtime payments of more than €30,000 in the first six months of the year.
