Inquiry underway after man is attacked in Newtownabbey

A 25-year-old man has been assaulted in Newtownabbey.

The victim was targeted in the Mayfield Village area in the early hours of Sunday, according to police.

Detective Constable Ross Olphert said: "I would appeal to anyone who saw a disturbance in the area at approximately 1am and may have witnessed this assault or anyone who has information about this incident to contact detectives at Antrim."
