Garda numbers should be shared around the country: Catherine Murphy

Social Democrat TD Catherine Murphy is calling for a radical redistribution of gardaí around the country.

Deputy Murphy said an imbalance in garda resources was leaving some rural areas dangerously exposed to criminality and an under-reporting of crime statistics.
