Witness appeal following alleged assault in Central Dublin last night

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault in Central Dublin last night.

They were alerted to the discovery of an unconscious man by a member of the public on Dame Lane at about 11.30pm.

The man, in his late 30s was found with serious head injuries, close to the entrance to a pub.

The man was rushed to St James' Hospital and has since been transferred to Beaumont where he remains in a serious condition.
