Man arrested after pensioner murdered in his home

A man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of a pensioner in Co Armagh last year.

Eugene Carr, 73, died in the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast last November, 10 weeks after being attacked at his home in Bessbrook.

Police carried out houses searches in Newry and Rathfriland and have detained a 30-year-old man.

A 26-year-old woman and 27-year-old man were arrested last September in connection with the attack on Mr Carr and are on police bail.
