Medical assistance needed for diver at Howth Harbour

The Irish Coast Guard were alerted to concerns for a diver at Howth Harbour, Co Dublin this afternoon.

The male diver in his 40s who was at the slip experienced a rapid ascent while returning to the surface from 15 meters depth at around 1pm.

The Coast Guard team and ambulance provided medical assistance for decompression sickness at the scene.

The man was taken to Beaumont Hospital where his condition is stable.
