Man dies after car crashes into Kildare canal

A man in his 30s has died after his car crashed into the canal in Co Kildare this morning.

The car went into the water at Allenwood South, near Naas just before 6am this morning.

Naas Gardaí are investigating the incident.

The road is currently closed and local Diversions are in place to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

The man’s remains have been taken to Naas General Hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact Naas Garda Station
