George Mitchell to attend event to mark Good Friday Agreement and Easter Rising

An event will take place in Dublin today to mark the 18th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, as well as the Easter Rising.

The event at the Abbey Theatre will trace the journey from 1916 to the 1998 peace deal, through poetry, music and drama.

One of the agreement's key negotiators, US Senator George Mitchell, will be among the guests at the Department of Foreign Affairs event, which will feature poetry readings and performances by Irish artists including Paul Brady.
