A man in his 30s has died this evening after his car struck a wall in Meath.

Update 8.40pm: The road has now fully reopened.

Earlier: A man in his 30s has died this evening after his car struck a wall in Meath.

The collision occurred around 4.55pm at Clownstown on the Dunshauhlin to Navan road.

The sole occupant of the car was taken to Navan General Hospital with serious injuries, he was later pronounced dead.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are at the scene and there is currently a contra-flow traffic system in operation.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing to witness to contact Dunshaughlin Garda Station on 01 8258600, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
