Calls for independent task force to find solution to Luas pay row
There are calls for the creation of an independent task force to find a solution to the Luas pay row.
Another 48 hour strike is underway in the capital in the long running dispute between Transdev and its employees.
Management say they are open to a new pay proposal for drivers - as long as it is reasonable - after the most recent deal at the Workplace Relations Commission was rejected by them.
Fianna Fail's Transport spokesperson Timmy Dooley has said the situation is similar to a dispute with Bus drivers in 2013: “And at the time a task force was established by the Government and by SIPTU and by IBEC.
“And two independent investigators at the time were appointed, they prepared a report into the reasons behind the ongoing rejection of the offers, by the drivers.
“And ultimately there was a solution and a resolution found.”
