Farmer burgled six times appeals to new TDs to help fight rural crime

A Tipperary farmer who has been targeted by burglars for a sixth time has appealed to all the newly elected TDs to help fight rural crime.

Almost 13,000 euro worth of goods has been stolen from Clive Clarke's property in Barna near Moneygall so far.

The most recent break-in was reported just two nights ago.

Mr Clarke says politicians never live up to their pre-election promises to help: “it’s gone to the stage now where are they going to help people, who are under so much pressure that they are committing suicide.

“They need to address this situation, there is nobody actually out there, no TDs, no nothing.

“The law will tell you ‘oh if we get into Government we will get extra gardaí, we will help this –they won’t!

“They will take pay rises to line their own pockets is what they are doing.”
