Four candidates are now confirmed for the role of Ceann Comhairle in the new Dáil.
Independent TD Maureen O'Sullivan and Fine Gael's Andrew Doyle are both set to seek appointment on Thursday.
Sinn Fein's Caoimhghin Ó Caoláin and Fianna Fáil's Seán Ó Fearghaíl are also seeking the role.
The position will be highly prized in the forthcoming Dáil.
This is because its holder will be automatically returned if there is an early election.
