Weather warnings in place as winds reach hurricane status

Weather warnings for snow, ice and wind are in effect across the country this morning.

Snow has been reported on higher ground as a Status Yellow alert is in place until 9am this morning, for Connacht, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal.
