AAA'S Paul Murphy hopes his party will gain seven seats

The Anti-Austerity Alliance - People Before Profit group is hopeful of hitting its target of seven seats in the 32nd Dail.

That is according to AAA Paul Murphy, who is aiming to retain his seat in Dublin South West.

And he has said if they can clinch their target in the final results, it would be a major breakthrough on the political landscape: “That means having a parliamentary grouping in the Dáil.

“It means having leaders questions every day.

“It means having the same amount of speaking time as Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil had in this Dáil and in the context of the end of the two and a half party system.

“In the context of Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil and Labour combined in a General Election being on 53-54%.

“Things are changing extremely quickly in politics, if Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are forced together which is possible, huge political changes, more political changes can happen.”
