Five arrested and stolen goods seized in Operation Thor searches

A number of people have been arrested and suspected stolen property seized during a number of planned searches in the south east.

Gardaí arrested five people - four males and one female - in Portlaoise, Kilkenny and Waterford this morning.

The operation was conducted as part of investigations into recent burglaries in the south east and to combat organised criminal activity.

The arrested men are aged 21, 28 and 30, and one is a juvenile. They are detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at various garda stations throughout the region.

The female, also juvenile, is detained at Kilkenny garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
