10,500 Benzodiazepine tablets seized in Limerick
10,500 Benzodiazepine tablets with an estimated street value of €21,000 have been seized in Limerick.
The seizure was made as part of an intelligence-led joint operation between Revenue, An Garda Síochána and the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) on Monday
The find was made at an address in Kileely, Limerick.
The tablets, a type of tranquilizer, which when taken without prescription can have serious toxic effects, had been sent from Austria.
A 59-year-old male was arrested by Gardaí and detained at Henry Street Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are continuing.
