Gardaí investigate armed robbery in Co Meath

Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery at a supermarket in Co Meath yesterday evening.

A masked man in his early 30's carrying a firearm entered the shop on Fairyhouse Road in Ratoath after 7pm.

He threatened and assaulted staff before leaving with an amount of cash.

One male staff member suffered minor injuries during the incident.

The man is described as 5'11" in height, of strong build - he was wearing a beetroot coloured hoodie, blue jeans, white socks and white runners and was carrying a green plastic bag.

Gardaí are appealling for witnesses to contact Ashbourne Garda Station.
