Longford, Cavan, Monaghan, Galway and Roscommon are the subject of a similar warning, this time a Status Yellow alert.
This also warns of ice and up to 4cm of snow.
Both warnings are valid from midnight tonight to midnight on Thursday night.
“Snow showers are expected overnight tonight, probably during the early part of Thursdsay, and then again probably later on Thursday when things get particularly cold,” said Joanna Donnelly from Met Éireann.
“The showers will be mostly falling in the north and on the northwest coast, but they’ll be driven inland by the brisk breeze, probably pushing further inland, probably down as far as Longford.”
