Flash flooding expected this evening

Heavy showers in parts of the country could lead to flash flooding, but is not likely to make currently flooded areas too much worse.

Latest 4pm: It will be cold after dark this evening, Met Éireann forecasts, with some further wintry showers at times, with a little snow in mountainous areas. Sharp ground frost will develop in places at various times also, leading to icy patches on untreated surfaces.
