Joan Burton in support of constitutional convention looking at 'right to die'

The Labour leader says she supports setting up a constitutional convention to look at the question of a 'right to die'.

But the Taoiseach says he doesn't support the idea of a referendum, even though he acknowledges there have been difficult cases caused by the lack of current laws.

Joan Burton says a constitutional convention would be the right sort of forum to discuss it, as long is it had the right kind of expert advice.

"I would certainly see scope for perhaps having something like an expert report on those issues, taking into account legal issues, practical issues and dignity issues - that would be very helpful."
