Yellow weather warning issued for Munster and Leinster

Anyone taking to the roads this evening is urged to drive with extra caution.

A yellow weather warning is in place for Munster and Leinster with up to 40 millimetres of rain predicted.

Conditions on several of the countries roads are described as difficult - with plenty of surface water to contend with.

Motorists are being asked to slow down - and to be mindful of the possibility of aquaplaning and debris on all routes.
