President calls Council of State meeting on bill to reduce waiting times in Direct Provision

The President has called a meeting of the Council of State to consider the International Protection Bill, which could see asylum seekers deported faster.

The bill aims to reduce the length of time that people seeking asylum have to spend in the application system, including in Direct Provision.
