Mother, 58, and daughter, 22, killed after car crashes into River Blackwater in Cork
Investigations are underway following a fatal road crash in county Cork which claimed the lives of a mother and daughter.
Cork Gardaí are investigating the accident which is said to have happened on the R667 Fermoy to Ballyduff Road at around 11.20am.
Gardaí have said that two women, reported to be a 58-year-old mother and her 22-year-old daughter, were killed in the accident.
They have also said that the female driver of another car involved in the collision was not seriously injured.
It is reported that the car carrying the mother and daughter spun out of control after the collision, before ploughing through a ditch and into the River Blackwater.

Forensic investigators and medics are at the scene.

The Fermoy/Ballyduff Rd (R666) is closed at the junction with the local Kilworth Rd (R667) and drivers are asked to use an alternative route.
58-year-old Geraldine Clancy and her 22-year-old daughter Louise, of Leitrim, Kilworth in Cork have been named as the victims.
