Gardaí continue to question man in his 40s following 14-hour stand-off

Gardaí are continuing to question a man following a 14-hour armed stand-off in Tallaght yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a domestic incident at an apartment in the Deerpark estate, in the early hours of yesterday morning.

It is understood a number of shots were fired when officers arrived.

Garda negotiators and members of the Emergency Response Unit brought the situation under control late yesterday evening.

A man in his 40s was taken into custody in connection with the incident and is being detained at Tallaght Garda station.
