Teenager to appear in court in connection with fatal assault

A teenager arrested in connection with a fatal assault in Claremorris yesterday is to appear before a special sitting of Castlebar District Court this afternoon, charged in relation to the incident.

A 17-year-old died following the assault at Claremont Manor, Knock Road in Claremorris.

A youth was arrested at the scene and is being held at Claremorris Garda Station, ahead of his court appearance which is scheduled for 3pm.

It is understood the boy is from eastern Europe.
