Water levels on the River Shannon are continuing to drop.

The ESB is set to maintain discharge levels at Parteen Weir in Co Clare.

They will be discharging about 370 cubic metres of water per second.

Clare County Council have said water levels on the lower river Shannon at Clonlara are now one foot lower than they were last Saturday night.

Meanwhile, Limerick City and County Council has confirmed that water levels along the lower River Shannon at Castleconnell, Montpelier, Mountshannon Road (Lisnagry) and in the Limerick City area dropped slightly overnight and during Saturday morning.
