Kildare councillor remains in critical condition after hit-and-run incident

The Kildare County Councillor injured in a hit-and-run incident remains in a critical condition.

65-year-old Willie Crowley was struck by a car while crossing the road on Eyre Street in Newbridge on Tuesday night.

A 28-year-old man appeared in court yesterday to face charges over the incident.

Councillor Crowley is being cared for at Naas General Hospital.
