Independent TD admonished for 'absurd' behaviour
An Independent TD has been told he will not be called to question the Taoiseach on the order of business in the Dáil until he apologises for his "absurd" behaviour.
Peter Matthews has been kicked out of the Dáil several times in recent weeks after the Ceann Comhairle said he was not adhering to the rules on what he could ask.
Today Seán Barrett decided not to call Deputy Matthews, and when the Dublin South TD objected, he explained why: “I’ll tell you something, when you decide to apologise to this house for your behaviour,
“Not just yesterday but other days totally ignoring the chair and the rules of this house –sit down, resume your seat and when you apologise to the house I will consider calling you again…
“Your behaviour is absurd.”
