The number of people opting to do their Christmas shopping in the North has plummeted to 7% - a quarter of what it was in 2008.

An AA Ireland survey of more than 5,500 people shows that since 2008 the overall figure for those travelling across the border for shopping has dropped from 27% to just 7%.
