Limerick man told to get a tie before giving evidence in court

A man has been ordered to leave the witness box in a Limerick court for wearing a 'Ryanair' style shirt.

The Irish Examiner has said a Judge in Limerick openly disapproved of the man's open-necked shirt, saying "this is not a Ryanair kind of show we are running here".

The man - who is an architect - was wearing a navy blazer and a sky blue shirt, but no tie.

The Judge asked if he had a neck tie, and when he did not, he said he wants the right kind of dress and proper decorum in his court.

He ordered the man away to find a tie before he could give evidence.
