Visitors to Ireland on the up

Almost 7.5m visitors have come to Ireland between January and October.

There was a 14% rise in the number of trips to Ireland in the period August to October.

More than 10% more American tourists came here.

There was also an additional 12% more visitors from Great Britain, and almost 17% more from Europe.

In the same three months, Irish citizens made over 4% more overseas journeys.
