Tánaiste calls for inquiry into SiteServ to be brought forward

Joan Burton says she would support the idea of splitting the inquiry into IBRC, and bringing forward the inquiry into the sale of SiteServ.

The Tánaiste says it would make sense to bring forward the SiteServ issue, as this was the one that had prompted so much concern about sales at the state-owned bank.

The Labour leader has blamed opposition parties for the delay in the inquiry's report, saying they wanted it to investigate too many issues.

But she says she would support bringing forward the SiteServ inquiry to get answers on that as soon as possible.

"As that is the major issue which was initially raised and then added on to by a whole series of other issues, I think that makes a lot of sense, but as I said it's now up to the opposition parties to perhaps reconsider the approach that they clamoured for."
