Murder investigation launched following death of elderly man in Belfast

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of an elderly man in Belfast.

73 year old Eugene Carr died in hospital last night after a violent aggravated burglary at his home in Clogharevan Park in Bessbrook earlier this year.

Three men broke into his home and stabbed him a number of times while he lay in bed in the early hours of August 31.

A man and a woman were arrested in connection with the incident in September but were released on police bail.
