Man appears in court charged with woman's murder in Westmeath

A 53-year-old man has appeared at Longford District Court, charged with the murder of a woman in Mullingar last weekend.

Danny Keena with an address at Empor, Ballynacargy in Co Westmeath is charged with murdering 43-year-old Brigid Maguire in Ballynacargy last Saturday.

Mr Keena was remanded in custody to appear before Harristown District Court on Friday, November 20.
