Three arrested as part of Operation Thor burglaries blitz
Three men have been arrested under Operation Thor, following a number of offences.
A 40-year-old man is being held at Ashbourne garda station in connection with an armed robbery at a shop in Dunboyne, Co Meath, on Thursday, October 15.
A man in his late 30s is being detained at Mullingar garda station in connection with a number of offences yesterday, including robbery of a taxi driver, robbery of a pharmacy, attempted hijacking of a car and the robbery of a handbag in the Mullingar area.
Another man in is late 30s was arrested after the theft of a handbag and keys of a car. The car later crashed and the man was arrested at the scene, near Birr in Co Offaly.
Operation Thor was launched earlier this month. The €5m operation is targeting burglaries carried out by high-profile gangs.
